Who we are

mConnected is operated by Monoprix Consulting Agency Nigeria Ltd, registered in Nigeria under number RC 1397641.

We are the data controller for the information described in this notice. For any privacy question, contact us at support@mconnected.online.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, information collected automatically as you use the platform, and information from verification partners.

• Account details — name, email address, phone number and password
• Profile details — location, biography, skills, availability and photographs
• Identity information — National Identification Number and, where required, Bank Verification Number, together with supporting documents
• Payment information — wallet balance and transaction history. Card details are handled entirely by our payment processor and never reach our systems
• Service activity — bookings, messages, reviews and support requests
• Technical information — IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited

Why we use your information, and our lawful basis

• To create and manage your account — performance of a contract
• To connect customers with service providers — performance of a contract
• To process wallet top-ups and payouts — performance of a contract
• To verify identity and protect users from fraud — legitimate interest and legal obligation
• To send service messages about your bookings and account — performance of a contract
• To investigate disputes and misuse — legitimate interest
• To improve the platform — legitimate interest
• To send marketing messages — consent, which you may withdraw at any time

Identity verification

Service providers are asked to verify their identity before their profile becomes available. We ask for your explicit consent before performing any verification check, and we do not proceed without it.

Identity numbers are stored encrypted and are never displayed in full. Access is restricted to staff who need it, and every access is recorded in an audit log.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information.

When you unlock a provider's profile, their contact details are shared with you. When you book a service, the details necessary to carry out that booking are shared with the provider.

• Payment processors, to take payments and make payouts
• Identity verification providers, to confirm the details you supply
• Hosting, email and SMS providers who operate the platform on our behalf
• Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to do so

How long we keep information

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. After closure we retain transaction and identity records for the period required by tax, accounting and anti-fraud obligations, then delete or anonymise them.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you have the right to be informed about how your data is used, to access a copy of it, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request deletion where no lawful basis requires us to keep it, to restrict or object to certain processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact support@mconnected.online. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, though we would ask you to raise it with us first.

Security

We protect information in transit and at rest, restrict internal access according to role, and log access to sensitive records. No system is perfectly secure, but where a breach affects your data and the law requires it, we will notify you and the Commission.

Children

The platform is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice. Where a change is significant we will tell you before it takes effect. The version and effective date shown at the top of this page identify the text currently in force.
